Bangladesh football team will play their first practice match in their two-week long training camp in South Korea as they take on K-League (2nd tier) side Gwangju FC at the Mokpo International Training Centre on Wednesday.
The National team's English head coach Jamie Day said ahead of the game, “We have been working hard the last few days on the boys’ fitness’ so it will be interesting to see how that is against a K-league side that have already started their season already,”
The specialised training camp in Korea is part of the team's preparation for the Asian Games and the Saff Suzuki Cup. The Asian Games began earlier from August 14 and the squad comprises under-23 players mostly and just three seniors.
Day hinted that the Asian Games squad will have more game time in the last two practice matches but for Wednesday's practice match, “all the players would play a part”.
“I am hoping we look sharper and fitter than the last time we played. We will continue to work in defense and attack.” Day added, “I know it's going to be a really tough match so what will be pleasing for me is if our shape and fitness has improved since the last game.
Meanwhile, the team earlier arrived in Korea on July 28 and is holding their camp at Mokpo ITC.
